1999: KGO pays KNTV $14 million dollars to drop ABC affiliation.
2000: KNTV moves to San Francisco market.
12/2001: Grainte Brocasting sells KNTV to NBC for $230 million. NBC starts 1/2002 on KNTV.
8/2004: FCC approves KNTV to move closer to San Francisco away from the city of license, San Jose.
